Nepalese Dal Baath

A little trickier, but a oh so tasty Dal Baath curry. This recipe is for four people and will make other campers envious.

You need

3 dl long grain rice
1 Yellow onion
2 Garlic cloves
2.5 dl Red lentils
1 tsp chilli powder
0.5 tsp Ginger (ground)
1 tsp coriander (ground / supported)
1 tsp Cumin (ground)
400 grams of vegetables / potatoes
Cooking Oil
Salt & pepper

How to (30 min)

Cook the rice according to directions on package (about 20 min).

Lentil Stew:
Peel and chop the onion.
Peel and mince the garlic.

Milling (light roast), onion and garlic in oil over medium heat for a few minutes until the onion is soft and shiny (not burnt).

Stir in the lentils and pour in water to cover the lenses with 1 cm. Cook about 10 minutes until the lentils are soft. Add salt and pepper.

Vegetable stew:
When the rice is done, use the burner to fry chili powder, ginger, coriander and cumin seeds in a little oil for a few minutes.

Add vegetables and / or potatoes and cook, stirring until golden.
Season with salt and pepper.
